But I assure you this isn't about my continued journey to lose the last 23 pounds. This is actually going to chronicle the challenges, struggles, adventures and, honestly, good times I've had and will continue to have now that I.. am... a runner!
Never thought I'd say that but this is who I am now. I love it! It's the best feeling in the world putting on those head phones and my sneakers (although I still call them tennis shoes.. running shoes? Mehh, whatever) and just going. It is truly amazing.
So since November when I became what I never thought I would (a runner!) I've done only one race. A Nearly Naked Mile race in Reston with a friend of mine. And NO, we weren't nearly naked. If anything, we were the most clothed. Now, even though it was only a mile, it got my feet wet in the world of road races.

I guess since my friend Joann got wind of my new love of running, she thought it would be a great idea to register for The North Face Challenge Half Marathon. *GULP* Yup, that's 13.1 miles of TRAIL running - not road - that I so gullibaly signed up for. Even though initally I wanted to shoot myself in the foot, ever since I started training for it with my friend Rachel who is also running it, along with 4 other friends, I'm beginning to believe that I'll be able to do this.
SO, what you'll see in this blog is a diary of sorts, chronicling all my training days, the adventures and ridiculousness that comes with willfully and voluntarily registering for a half marathon. In the words of one of my favorite books, "May the odds be ever in your (my) favor!"
Welcome to The Running 20's!
